A year has passed since a family said goodbye to their beloved dog, and the grief over the loss is still there. But it’s not just people who feel the void, it seems their cat is also silently suffering for its best friend, writes TAG24 . A Reddit user under the nickname Lanky_Process_1835 shared a touching story in a group dedicated to black cats.
“My sweet little girl moved me to tears this morning…” she wrote, referring to her cat she found in her daughter’s room. A black cat was lying on a stuffed toy that looks like a dead dog.
The owner explained the background to the emotional moment. “My dog passed away last year… I felt extra sad today because I miss him,” she wrote. “I walked into my daughter’s room and found the cat lying on his stuffed toy. I guess she missed him too.”
The sight of the cat curled up next to the dog’s toy broke her heart. “I just lay down next to her, petted her and cried,” she added.
The owner has no doubt that her cat is grieving. “He was her best friend. She would cuddle up to him whenever she had the chance,” she explained.

Along with the photo of the sad cat, the owner also shared several old pictures that testify to the deep bond and friendship between the black cat and the white dog.
In the comments, she revealed that she was thinking about getting a new dog, but she was worried about how the cat would adapt after everything they had been through together.
