STUDIO Lionsgate has released a trailer for the modern western Americana, a film directed by Tony Tosta and starring Sydney Sweeney and Paul Walter Hauser.
As reported by Deadline, the plot of the film follows several dynamic characters who clash over the possession of a rare indigenous artifact. After an artifact ends up on the black market, a shy waitress with big dreams (Sweeney) teams up with a heartbroken army veteran (Walter Hauser) to find it, which puts them in the crosshairs of a ruthless criminal acting on behalf of a Western antiques dealer.
When the leader of the indigenous community and a desperate woman fleeing from her mysterious past join the search, the conflict escalates into bloodshed. Watch the first trailer for the film below.
Along with Sydney Sweeney and Paul Walter Hauser, the film also stars Halsey, Simon Rex, Eric Dane, and Zahn McClarnon. According to Deadline, Americana premiered at SXSW in 2023, and was acquired by Lionsgate a few months later, and will only be released in theaters this year.
He should have his premiership at the end of August, specifically on August 22, 2025.
