Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson and Daisy Edgar-Jones star in Netflix thriller

ROBERT Pattinson, Denzel Washington and Daisy Edgar-Jones will star in the crime thriller Here Comes the Flood, directed by Oscar-nominated director Fernando Meirelles.

The plot follows a security guard who teams up with a top bank robber. The film will follow the ups and downs of his relationship with the cashier, and through a series of twists and turns will reveal the fraud behind everything.

The screenplay is written by Simon Kinberg, known for the film Mr. and Mrs. Smith. According to Netflix’s official description, Here Comes the Flood is “an atypical heist film about a security guard, a cashier and a con man, a dangerous game of deception and multiple betrayals.”

Washington will also appear in his fifth film with director Spike Lee, Highest 2 Lowest, in which he plays a gangster on the streets of New York. The film will hit theaters on August 22, 2025, and will then be available on Apple TV+. He most recently starred in Gladiator II and the highly successful Broadway production of Othello, opposite Jake Gyllenhaal.

Daisy Edgar-Jones was last seen in Daniel Minahan’s On Swift Horses, alongside Jacob Elordi, Will Poulter, Diego Calva, and Sasha Calle. She was also cast as Carole King in the film adaptation of the hit Broadway musical, but the project was canceled. Pattinson’s most recent role was in Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17.

The exact release date for Here Comes the Flood is not yet known.
